PETONE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The fortnightly meeting of the' Petono Borough Council was held last evening, and was attended by Mr. J. W. MTJwan (Mayor) and Councillors Short, Young, Smith, Harding, Southgate, Castle, and Colquhoun. Councillor A. Coles was granted six weeks' leave of absence.

Ike borough solicitor (Mr. R. C. Kirk) wrote that Messrs.
