Chamber of Commerce, has also sent a tele- • gram to the Government protesting, on bo.- ; half of the commercial community, against > Detective Quirko's removal. It is stated that a petition is to be. circulated in Palmorston. in favour of retaining Detective Quirke'e services for the. town. The member.for the- : district is moving in the matter.
