HARVEST THANKSGIVING. Harvest thanksgiving services were Held yesterday in St. Mark s Church, which was beautifully decorated with wheatears, toi, greenery and tho "kindly fruits of the earth." The Rev. A. 11. Johnson preached at the evenine service from the text, "And Noah became I husbandman. He dwelt on the significance of the harvest as requiring for its consummation, man's co-operation with God. Morning and evening services were largely attended, and harvest hymns wero sung.'' . CONFIRMATION SERVICE. _The Bishop of Wellington will hold a Confirmation service at St. Mark's Church on Thursday evening, when over 70 candidates will be presented. Among them will be Mr. Daniel James Kwoin, a Chinese convert who was baptised last year, and who has since been taking services at the mission hall in Frederick Street. SUNDAY SCHOOL JUBILEE. ■The jubilee of tho Brooklyn Baptist Sunday School was celebrated yesterday, when special services were held in Eullford's Hall. Thß Rev J. J. North preached in the morning on the subject of "Seed-Sowing," and the Rev. A. Dewdney gave a blackboard address to the children in the afternoon. Mr. Dewdney also preached in the evening, when his sermon was entitled Character-Building in Child Life." Appropriate-hymns were sung by a choir of 150 children, assisted by teachers and friends. Special anniversary music, was rendered under the leadership of -Mr. John Nicol. Solo parts were taken by Masters Stanley Dewdney and Allen, Mesdames Berryinan and Look, and Mr. Pargeter. Miss Brown officiated at the organ, and Miss Peychenne at tho piano. All the services were well attended,.and in the evening the' hall was densely crowded. The jubilee commemoration will be continued to-morrow evening, whoh there will be a tea, followed by a meeting, at-which the Hon. G. Fowlds has promised to speak.
