Y.M.C.A. FOOTBALL CLUB.
" Soccer" (says the Y.M.C.A. Club report) is making great strides in New Zealand, and large numbers of people witnessed some of the matches'last season. The club entered teams in every grade, and had to resort extensively to the alphabet.in order to designate its teams, so many were there. The outlook for this year is bright; and the number of teams will equalthat of last year. This is the largest Association football club in the Dominion, and every effort is being put forth to maintain that position. Two members of the senior team played in tho Wellington representatives, who were successful in recovering the "Brown Shield." One member of the junior team also played in tho junior representatives. Some records:—Senior, Ist division, A team: Finished in third place. Senior, second division: Won 6 matches, lost S. Junior, first division: Played 11 matches, won G, lost 4. Junior, second division, A team: Won championship and tho Charity Cup competition. Junior, second division, B team: Played 14 matches, won 0, lost 8. Junior, second division, C team: Played 10 matches, drew 1, lost 9. Junior, third division, A team: Played 14 matches, won 8, drew 4, lost 2. Junior, third division, B team: Played 13 matches, won 7, drew 2, lost 4. Junior, third division, C team: Played 10 matches, won 2, drew 2, lost 6.
