ROMNEY MARSH SHEEP.
The tnmporarv lull in the popularity of tho useful Romnov Marsh sheep has reached tho Britisli as well as the New Zealand farmers. The "Meat Trades Journal" says:—"A growing export trade for tho hardy Romncy Marsh breed is proving of great advantage to owners of the best flocks, but tho ordinary farmer has to rely upon the homo markets, and ho is now reaping tho lean season that follows tho fat, although he is sanguino enough to, anticipate an early return of bettor times." . On the same question tho London "Times" sIITS: —"The Marsh farmers in Kent have not very pleasant recollections of tho past year. To them shecpfarming is of primary importance, and their financial position suffered in proportion to the depression in both tho sheep and wool markets. Reductions of from 7s. to 10s. per head on sheep and of 4d. per lb. on wool must toll heavily upon the revenno account in a shecpfarming district, and thiß, states a correspondent, was tho experience of nuny in tho Kent marshes last year."
