BROKEN HILL AWARD

9 MEN RESTLESS. CROUND OF THE COMPANY'S APPEAL. QUESTION OF JURISDICTION. (lit TBl.lifilUl'H—l'llESS *SSorUTIt>X —CnI'YUIRHT.) Sydney, March 20. Tho ground on which tho Broken Hill Proprietary Company is appealing to tho High Court against tho award of Mr. Justieo Higgins (President of tho Federal Arbitration Court) is that Mr. Justice Higgins introduced during tho hearing of tho award matters vitally affecting tho business of tho company, which tho Court had no jurisdiction to deal with. Tho development has caused much disappointment, it being realised that tho hearing of tho appeal may delay tho re-opening of the mino for a lengthy period. Tho men are again becoming restless. There aro rumours that tho Broken Hill companies intend to import men from Melbourne.
