A SUCCESSFUL HOCKEY CLUB.
Members of the Hinemoa Hockey Club who attended their first annual meeting last evening had .cause for feeling pleased: with, the club's: first'year. "The ; committee," said the report,'."are in the happy position of-Being able to-show a credit balance on the year's working, and there are no subscriptions outstanding. So far as the results of the competitions, are. concerned, the club members have every reason to feel satisfied, the teams finishing.. uj> well in'their grades, both coming third in" the' competitions, the 1 juniors especially haring hard luck- in not "pulling off the cup. Out'.of-fourteen matches played the juniors won 10, drew 1, and lost 3, scoring 45 goals, and having 12 scored against them; The thirds, out-of twelve-matches played, '-won 9j drew 1, and ..lost ,2,' scoring 26 goals.and having 10 scored against them. Misses Bacraclough,. E. Harrison, H. Smith, A. Smith, W. James, . and Stewart were congratidatea on attaining representative honops. 'Thanks were expressed to Mrs.' Harrison, for lending her 'room, Mr. J.jD. M'lntyTe, coach: and the president and'vice-presi-dents.for their-practical assistance. The report was-adopted, and the following new officers elected:—Patron, Mr. R.' A. Wright, M.P.; president, Mr. J. D. M'lntyre; vicepresidents, Messrs. A; Bar'nett; F. 6.- Bolton, and F. M. B. Fisher, M.P., Drs. Kemp and Camertn; hon.' secretary, Miss. A. Smith; hon. treasurer, Miss H. Smith';" hon. auditor, Mr. A. Barnett';' club' captain, Miss E. Harrison; committee, Misses E. Harrison, A. Har-rison,-H. Smith, A.'Smithj L.'Stairmand, R. Richards; and A. Heslop ; delegates to association, Misses A. -.- Smith and Heslop • coach, Mr. J; D. M'lntyre. Miss A.' It was' decided to enter a senior team I for the competitions this year, and to arrange, if possible, for a team to; -visit Motueka and Nelson on ithe Prince of Wales's birthday, Juris 3.
