OUR CADETS.
Sir,-rln reply to my letter of the 16th instant, you Bay that the reason the_ "Cadet Bisley" was not held was that entries were received only from Wellington College and St. Patrick's College Cadet Companies. If ;tho 'authorities made it" worth while, they .would,.very soon receive entries from all parts of tu9 Dominion,' hut is not likely .that cadets would.' come from the South Island and other parts Dominion to compete. in one match, the first prize of which is only £1. Another thing is that under tho present 'conditions, headmasters might not he willing to .allow a cadet company to have threo or four days'_ holiday, necessary for, travelling, to shoot in such a small match. Last year a cadet from Waitaki High School did compete in the match at Trentham; ho came third, and won 17s. 6d. Was'this enough to pay his expenses? —I am, ctc., ' - A SYMPATHISER. ■March id.
