"NOT AN UNMIXED EVIL." (BY TBIEOHArn—rftKSS ASSOCIATION.) Hamilton, March 16. The annual visit of farmers to the RuaIcnra Experimental Farm took place to-day, over three hundred boiiiE.present. These inoludod the' Hon. D. Buddo, Minister for Internal Affairs, who, in tho course of his speech, tlealt generally with the value of such stations to those engaged >" agricultural pursuits. Ho also expressed tho opinion that tho Waikato had a great future before it as a dairying and agricultural district. Referring to the financial stringency, Mr. Buddo-said that he had seen slumps heforo, but they gradually righted themselves. He believed that tho present depression was not altogether an unmixed evil, as it would probably have the effect, of causing business to bo carried on on sound lines. There was no causo to be downhearted about it, after tho season's splendid harvest, and tho extraordinary buoyancy of butter. The market for frozen meat was low at tho present time, but tliis might be through bad times in the Old Country. There was a good deal of hope about tho situation, as, after returns had been worked off i from other countries, tho prospect would bo better.
