Shirtcliffo has decided that owing to business calls on his time, h 0 wili bo unable to contest the Mayoralty this year, but lie may come forward 011 a future occasion' Tho position now is that Dr. Newman and Mr. Wilford are definitely announced, mid Mr, I isher is regarded as a • certainty. Messrs. liolton and Biss bnve not yet decided as to whether they will como forward. t Dr. A. A. Newman announces, in connection with his candidature for the Citv Mayoralty, that he will deliver a public address at an early date.
