Arthur Stevens, aged_46 years, a siugle man, was killed whilo "bushfalling at Toi Toi yesterday while cutting away a treo on which another had fallen. He lived two hours anil a half after being struck down. , AN OLD MAN FOUND DEAD. (by telegbaph—peess association.) Dunedln, March 13. An inquest was held concerning the death v of Donald Watt, who was found dead 'in his hut. A verdict was returned of death from natural causes—heart failure. The old fellow had been a labourer and fencing contractor in his early days. No one had any idea that ho had nearly £7000 iu tho bank. YOUNG WOMAN FATALLY BURNED. Cisborne, March 13. Yesterday afternoon Mrs. Holloway received terrible burns about her body. Sho was melting beeswax on a stove, when the wax boiled over and shot into the flames. She rushed to the stove and caught thc<dish in her apron,' and while endeavouring to tako 'it olit the burning wax set hor dress alight, and sho rushed out screaming for assistance Several neighbours were soon 011 tho scene, and succeeded in extinguishing tho flames after the poor woman's dress had been almost completely burned off. Although suffering intensely, she had tho presence of mind to tell hor helpers that the house was on fire, and two men who had arrived by this timo immediately went in and succeeded in putting out the flames before any serious damage was done. Mrs. Holloway was carried into her room, where doctors, who had been sent for, bathed the wounds in oil and limewater and wrapped the sufferer in lint. She, however, succumbed to her injuries at six o'clock this morning. Deceased, who was a young woman, leaves one child.
