ADJUSTMENT OF SPECIAL RATES.
:— The demand of tho Northland Ratepayers' Municipal Association, announced by their chairman, Mr. Findlay M'Leod, at a meeting held on January 22, that thoro should be an adjustment of special ratos botween the City Council and the Borough of Karori, is about to receive attention, as tho following letter has been received by the secretary. (Mr. J. Aston) from Mr. Palmer (Town ' Clork):—"March 8, 1909. In reply to yours of March 4, received this day, in regard to . tho adjustment of special rates, etc., between tho City of Wellington and the Karori Borough, I have pleasure iii informing you that I_ havo this day communicated with the Karori Borough on tho matter, and upon receipt of their repl.v the question will bo laid before the council for immediate attention. I havo asked tho Karori Borough to arrange to reply in timo to permit of the adjustment required taking placo, if possible, from tho commencement of tho now financial year, beginning on April I.—(Signed) J.
