DAIRY REGULATIONS.
A Hamilton Press Association telegram states that a Dairy Conference, arranged by the Provincial Executive of the Fanners' Union, held at Hamilton on Saturday afternoon, exhaustively considered the proposed regulations. Mr. Allen Hell was iti the chair, and forty people were present, including Air. Clifton (Chief Inspector of Stock). ill-. Bell explained tho regulations, and thev were considered in detail. A number of deletions, additions, and modifications were made. ■ The following resolutions were carv;ctl; —( a ) That before inspectors institute proceedings against dairymen, the latter should liavo power to retcr the matter to the Chief Stock Inspector before appearing in Court, (b) That before an inspector maK-s a round of inspection of dairies, tho Dairy Company of the district appoint two representatives to accompany him on the inspection. (c) That farmers he granted free railway carriage on material to bo used in "Ifo construction ' of cowsheds or yards. Mr. Clifton explained tho proposed _ regulations from tho Government point of view, and answered a number of questions. fee\cial speakers expressed the opinion that tho Government should be recommended to alter tho law to protect tho lessee for any permanent alterations made to comply A\ith the regulations, such cost to be borne by iho lessor, the tenant paying ilt ,cast f l ™ i' Pl ' cent, on the outlay during the remainder ef his lease. Further conferences will be lield in different centres.
