SUNDAY SCHOOL FESTIVAL.
On Wednesday evening the Thorndon Primitive Methodist Sunday. School celebrated its sixty-first anniversary by holding a teameeting at the Sunday School,, which was beautifully decorated with foliage and flowers for the occasion. A large number of people were present at the tea, and at the public meeting which was afterwards held. The Rev. J. B. Haddon presided, and during the. evening a speech was delivered by the Rev. 1 ,, . A. Thompson, of Porirua. The report of the Sunday School for the year was read, and showed that there had been a steady progress, and a slight increase in tho number of scholars, 87 now being on the roll. The children were responsible for the main part of the evening's ontertainnient. Recitations were given by N. Melville, W. Scatchard, M. Goad, V. Collins, H. Grimes, B. Steptoe, and L. Ludwig, and to these were added dialogues and part recitations by a number of other children, while the scholars and choir. \ under the leadership of Mr. J. Ffrost, with Miss AVard as organist, rendered' several special choruses.
