Armstrong, Whitworth and Company, of Newcastle, and Messrs. Vickcrs, Son and Maxim, of Barrow, havo almost completed in Japan tho crcction of steel works for gun-forging. Tho Japanese Government intend to purchase' tho works, and tho Japanese Admiralty will manago them,' assisted by English experts. Japan has ordered from Armstrong, Whitworth and Co. a largo numbor of gull mountings.
