RETIREMENTS.
JUSTICE DEPARTMENT. In addition to the three Stipendiary Magistrates already mentioned, the following officers of tho Department of Justico will retire as from tho end of the present month, on account of having reached or passed the ago of G5 years:— W. A. Thom, clerk of Court, Taurango. J. 0. Lloyd, bailiff, Thames. A. M. Pearson, bailiff, Oaniaru. . F. H. Bullen, bailiff, li. Martin, crier, etc., Supremo Court, Auckland.' E. W. Seager, crier, etc., Supremo Court, Christchurch. W. Martin, _ crier, ctc., Supfeme Court, Dunedin. OTHER RETIREMENTS. Mr. John Black, for 30 years storekeeper in the Post and Telegraph Stores Department, retires on superannuation on March 31. He was born in 1842, and after following tlio sea for several years, camo to Now Zealand in 1861. Ho joined tlio General Government Telegraph Construction Party in 1564, and afterwards for four years was lineman in charge of different sections in tho South Island. After similar service and superintendence of construction work in this island, ho became postmaster and telegraphist at Hawera, and he afterwards directed tho construction of the lino from Hawera to New Plymouth.
