Yesterday afternoon a deputation waited upon Air. A', do J!. Hrnudnii, tho partner of tho Mayor (tlio Hon. T. W. Hislop), and asked liini to do all in liis power to omlilo his colleague to conm forward again. Mr. Brandon replied that ho would cliscuss tho matter with Mr. Hislop. Speaking to a Dominion representative last night, Mr. Hrandon said that ho had not seen his partner to discuss tho question, Init ho regretted to say, considering llio circumstances, Hint lie did not anticipate being ahln to acralo to tho wishes of the deputation. Mr. Hislop will probably give- ilis reply today.
