METHODIST CONFERENCE.

WELCOME TO DELEGATES. - . A conversazione and welcome to the delegates attending the conference was' held at the Wesley*, Schoolroom, sTaranaki. Street,: last evening.' The building was" crowded. •The.Rev. D M'Nicol occupied the chair. The proceedings .commenced with a. hymn ' and' prayer; alter which a welcome was expressed • by' the Rev. S.. J.'. Serpell, :as representing the Methodists; and oitizens of Wellington. Songs were .given by ; Miss Castle, Miss Bennett, Dr. Brown: Rev. A. Mitchell and Mr. Phipp. Miss Luke, and Mr. H. B. Copper ' contributed. recitations. . The Rev.; K. E. Bellhouse delivered an.addross on .what we : owe'to the past,' arid visions of the future. The, address was characterised by freshness, 1 vigour; and eloquence..
