C; ;A.;Wray,:stipendiary Magistrate at limaru,'is among those who are to be retired next: month, but, : be has not yet-re-ceived official notice of his retirement;- Speak-.mg'tb-a- .reporter -yesterday, Mr. Wray pointed/out.that, if vhe were retired now if .would;meanJthat'his pension, to which 'he was entitled under the Civil Service Act of 1886, would ■ be. less by.'about £18 per annum than' if -ho were .'allowed to" complete his 40 years service in December next. He raised the question as to whether.the 'existing, legislatiori, did: not .prevent the. retirements being' made in. March.next,.as proposed. He .Part 1V.,0f the Civil Service -Act. (Consolidated Statutes) that the retire-' ,menta : could hot.be mad© until the end of the /ior.ph'ooming .session; of Parliament.-, Section '. 2 ?
