J'able was charmin2ly> decorated with mauve clematis'and 1 foliage., During tho afternoon:-. two;/competitions/ amused the guests; , one concerning celebrities, and tho other more general. The former, was' won by, Miss Bridson, who received as prizo a gold brooch, while Dr. Helen'Cowie, who won the second, received a silver pen.' A number, of .croquet: players took adyantago of being able.tp play on eucli a fine lawn, and thoroughly enjoyed their games.-Mrs. Chennells' wore a.handsomerfrock of dark green shantung, and smart < black 1 hat. /The, Misses ..Cormack,.
