THE REQUISITION FOR CHARITABLE AID Tho trustees of the Benevolent Institution/ met yesterday,, when there were,' present Messrs. -J. Smith (in .the chair),,®. W. Short, J. Wakeham, D. Robertson, H. Cook, and the Hon; A. W. -Hogg. . Tho liumber of inmates at tho Ohiro Home ■was reported to be. 106 (76/' males and 30 females). ■ / The .report of^' the Finance Committee recommended that accounts amounting to ■£136' lis. 104.: be passed for ; payment, and (that : the. requisition for charitable aid for .the . enduing year be for £4500.-'/ Last year's requisition - was for £4000, but in view of the .fact: that scope of of the trustees in regard to casuals has. been widened, and there, are, prospccts of the winter being a bad one, it waj thought advisable: to apply for the extra. £500/.this year. The report of. the coininittee was adopted. Applications for relief,- somew-hat more numerous than usual, were .'received and dealt with. ' • ': '.
