"MR. ,E. G. BLACKMORE.' - (DT TELKQBArn—I'BESS ASSOCIATION*—COFYRIOnT.) Sydney, February 22. Mr. E. G. Blackmore, formerly clerk to tho Commonwealth Parliament, is dead. ; Mr. Edwin Gordon Blackmore was born at Bath, England, in 1637, and educated at King Edivard yl Grammar School, Bath.. Served in the New Zealand war'lß63-4 (present in reserve at the action .of Poutoko October 2, 1863, and at the storming and capture of the rebel Maori strongholds at Ahuahu and Kaitake March, 1861, medal). ' He was Parliamentary libararian in South Australia in 1864, Clerk Assistant of the Hoiise of Assembly,-S.A., in 18G9, and Clerk in 1886, Clerk of Legislaitvo Council itin'd.f of the' Parliaments, 1887; Clerk of National Convention whioh framed the Commonwealth Constitution, ; 1897-8 (received thanks of convention.) He was soveral years examiner and lecturer, in history in tho University of Adelaide, .Governor of. St. 1 Peter's Collegiate School and chairman of committee of Diocesan Synod, organising secretary of the movement .in S.A. to raise a bushmen's corps for service in South" Africa,; and member of sub-committee to'horse and equip tho corps, Author of "The Decisions of Mr. Speaker: Denison and Mr. Speaker Brand on Points of Order, Rules;of Debate,:and the General Practice of the House' of Commons, 1857-84;'-"'Tho. Decisions of Mr.; Speaker; Peel, 1884-95";', "Mo nnal of tho Practioe, Procedure, and Usage of ' the jHouse.of Assembly of S.A."; "Hanuol of the Practice, Procedure, 1 and Usage of ; the I Legislative Council of S.A., and the Law of the Constitution of S.A." ;
