A PRESENTATION.

Mr. Naughton was a very pleasant one, •as ho was ..surO :■'; that /; Mr. Naughton had gained the esteem of the residents of the. town and district.They de-. sired ,in sonie small measure to show, their appreciation of Mr. Nauglitori's -'qualities;.as a citizen', and on behalf of the; residents of ■the town and district he: asked him r -, to-. accept a' purse of sovereigns, and on behalf of the local branch of the Farmers' Union a case of pipes and'j letter;of appreciation of his-services to that body.- , Mr II; Forsyth said that Mr. Naughton had' done* a< great - deal of good work, and had, : mado. many friends.. It was to' be regretted/that a man of,his -stamp was.leaving them. ' . V Mr.. J. Christoffel endorsed-the , remarks of. the chairman and Mr. Forsyth, and said that Mr; Naughton. .would be missed, - especially by the farming community.
