M.'Myers) has announced , his intention of resigning oa the 25thrinstant, prior toproceeding>Hqnie for a holiday trip.) In ,th.e course of*an interview, Jlr. Myers reviews the undertakings "of the city during his term of ofnce, and as to the future remarks: "Among the matters which now require attention, or will do bo very shortly, arq the construction of 'swimming baths, the initiation of an asphalting policy in the > main streets, besides Queen*(street, as soon as the drainage scheme has been so far advanced that tho surface will not need to be broken up again, tho extension of Market Square, establishment of branch libraries, further improvements in the parks and Domain, the establishment of a fish market, the completion of a permanent electrical power station, tho construction of'an esplanade along the water front, tho construction (in conjunction with tho other local bodies interested) of a good road to the Waitakeioi Ranges, and last, but not least; the establishment of a'superannuation fund for the Council's employees." It is-expected that the City Council will elect Mr. C. Grey (senior councillor) to the Mayoral chair for the two months to elapse before tho annual election. Mr.' Grey, who wjill then stand for tho office, will bp probably opposed by Messrs. L. J. Bagnall and C. 3. l'drr, both councillors. ' '
