The Rivers Rhine, Elbo, Main, and Oder are rising steadily. Many lives have already been lost; Tho situation in Dresden (the capital of Saxony) is most precarious. Tho ice, on the Elbo has broken into hugo floos thirty centimetres thick. Enormous crowds' from the countryside are assembling in tho city to watch the wo crashing into tho bridges It has' already destroyed tho scaffolding of the nearly-com-pleted Augustus bridge. THE LATEST. STREAMS SUBSIDING: DANGER PAST. (Rec. ; February 8, H. 30 pirn;) Berlin, Fobruaiy 8. The ice floes at Dresden are molting, and tho danger is past. Somo of the western streams are abating.
