THEATRE ROYAL. On Saturday nisht the profrramme of Messrsl Fullers' .moving pictures at the Theatre Roval was changed, a varied and interesting collection, of films being shown. Humour played a lari*a part in the evening's entertainment, one'Of the' best of this class being "Pa at the SeasidesSoon after the arrival at .the bbardinghonsa the hitherto sober father spied a pretty girl, made her acquaintance, nnd was introduced to a'bevy of her gay friends. With these "pa" did the round of the seaside nth actions, and in a humorous and not inglorious way, till "ma" arrived on the scene. Complications follow, and these must be seen to be appreciated. Another eood' nictnre of' the comia order was "The Kids" Strike," which, described in:,detail how a number or school children ' freed themselves from tie "resins tutelarv," nnd went out on strike, trifh 3 creat attention to details. Thev bnrnt tie sjhool furniture, plundered the village sfcpjw, fiized the police, nnd eenerallv had a victori<YK career until the Arbitration Court in the shaw cf stern parents interfered, quelled the disfartance, and administered corporal punishment in a manner calculated to Tob the vonthiul law-breakers of the last vestiee of dimity. The comic element was also predominant in "The. Fnuss Decorator," "Forced to Consent,'* and "Miniature Circus". The last-named film was 'rirettily coloured, as was also "The Faun." Thera were a few travel pictures m the programme, the most interesting being: "China at the Present Day." This was a well-chosen series of views, showing the vtn-ipus classes and asuecta of life in the bis Chinese rorts which have been subject to the modernising influence •of the "West. "Desert life." and "Life* on the Zambesi" were other travel nictures. In addition to: the films named-there were othera of a descriptive and dramatic nature. During the evening musical selections were rendered , by Edgar Collins's orchestra. The programme will be repeated this evening. HIS MAJESTIC THEATRE. N The usual week-end audience filled * His Majesty's on Saturday evening, when the Royal Pictures were again shown. The programme was in every way an excellent one, and was well received. _ Amongst the pricipal pictures were the amusing films: "Following in Mother's Footsteps," and "The Airship Thieves." ' GLOBE PICTURES. The_ Opera House was filled to its utmod ' capacity last evening, when another 6eries of' Globe Pictures weie exhibited, consisting of interesting story and travel pictures. The pictures were mostly new subjects, and were well produced. Miss A. Dobbie and Mr. E. Arthur, were the vocalists for the evening. ..- THEROYAL' WELSHiJLALECHOIR; Abundant opportunities* will.doubtless be o|. fered members' of musical societies "and church .'choir's:, to: pick .up useful lessons .during the forthcoming, visit pf the:' Royal --Welsh Mala Choir,; which is announced to ; begin .its; Wellington 'season at the Town Hall on Thursday evening;:next. The'.choir has ;beeri referred to •as .thoroughly efficient, the balance "of- the several: parts,.as--'being, most-satisfactory,'"and every: attention: paid to:points .6f light and shade. The; conductor is; an.enthusiast- right down;to the,point- of his.wahd-, and joins in the .singing, himself .'. . The choruses, constitute the; main;- portion, of .the programme,. although quartets,-duets,.trios,' arid.solos are judiciously included.'. Jt'is - customary to for. certain encored favourite.hymn- tunos.'.i.a'nd. iti.has been'remarked: that: it is difficult .to . describe adequately the charm and sublimity attaching to;.- the: rendition of- such ' exquisite: examples as "Lead, Kindly.'Light,'.' and -Nearer.
