That the new, regulations- dealing -with'.boneless 'beef, will: be: found' in practice to be more .stringent than was anticipated, and that im-„ portation will bo almost put an end to; that 1 considerable difference of opinion prevails as to whether that will. be.a. good thntg for:the trade,' but on thc whole I should .say the' 'Noes': have it;. that -it, is'diffiduliVto: get dii' entirely unbiased Opinion on this subject, ;as the ,' Noesare !almbstf tora'i man . interested parties, while the Ayes'. are mostly , those who are..not in that particular braiich of trade, but who most likely would bo' in it' if they could." - I: , -Commenting;editorially on tlio'.now'meatimport regulations, the "Meat Trades- Journal" says:—"We; have already- referred to 1 the drastic character of these rules', and regulations; and _ to: the possible loss and 'annoy* ..alloy they-will entail -upon importers; but "itscorns to, .us; that- on and after January 1 next, shippers of boneless, or' boxed, meats, pork, . tripes,- tongues, etc., will simplify, matters by shutting - down on the whole trade. Businoss carried on under the restrictive conditions 1 set forth in this circular is simply impossible." . '
