DINGHY RACING
A light easterly breeze prevailed last even, ing, when tvnother of a series of mid-weekly races undur the auspices of the Thorndjn Dinghy Club was sailed for Mr. fompsitts trophy. The following boats startedj-Thjlma, soratctiTZel, 2min.; .Blowfly, 31min.i Vera, 4miu.; 000, 4rain.; Rona, smin.; Ajax, 7min. Tho hundioape were of no.use to tho limit boats" owing to the light baffling breeze. Oβ the beat to Oriental Bay buoy, tho boats changed places several times, working all the points available. Blowfly was first round the buoy closely followed by Zol, with Vera and Tholma close at hand. Ajax had the worst of luck, and was left. On tho lead to Coromandel buoy, Rona had the misfortune to get 6wamped. Oeo here abandoned the race, and stood by in case assistance- was'needed. Blow, fly was first round tho Coromaudel buoy, with Thelma close handy, followed by Vera, which had overtaken Zel on the load. On tho run home, Blowfly had the misfortune to foul a lido stretched ashore from one of tho hulks, thus allowing Tlielirm to overhaul her.- From this point it was a really good contest between Tholma and Blowfly, Thelma crossing th* line'2ssec. in the lead, with Zel next, followed by Vera and Ajax.
