.Lord Roberts, chairman of the Veterans' Relief Fund, which was established to assist ' thoso Army vetorans who were in poor circumstances, states that the receipts to date (December 12) from all sourqes bv the hon, treasurers of tho fund, Lloyd's Bank, 222 Strand, London, W. 0., amount to £38,087 . 4s. 10d., inclusive of various sums sent in ond ear-marked for vetorans in certain localities. An actuarial calculation has shown that for the relief of each veteran taken on hy,.tho fund a sum of £60 must b© set osido. - By thiß means tho fund will automatically exhaust itsolf on tho death of tho last veteran of, campaigns prior to 1860.
