' _ It is anticipated that the/ work- in connection with'the extensive alterations and additions which are being made to-the Supremo Court buildings will be completed-within the nest few days. ' Owing; to. the} fact that 'the building was designed complete ,in itself/.it now presents a less striking appearance from an architectural point, of View: As a result of the improvements a considerable amount of additional, accommodation, : which ' was badly needed, has been afforded' Most of the work has been done! on , the .side .of V.thoV build- ' ing fronting Ballance : Street.:".: The -library which formerly measured; 30ft. -'x; 26ft:,1 has been more than doubled in size;' ; whilst -above that portion of the building two new- consulting rooms—one 13ft. x 14ft:- Gin. and the other 10ft. x 20ft.—and a . press room, lift x . lOft. 6in., have been provided. , It, is understood that the rooms formerly, occunipd hr the.Registrar-and Sheriff ',(Mr;.D. 6 A Cooper) will be turned :into ,wpiting rooms! At the west end of that wirig lavatories and sanitary .apartments: have been'erected On the side facing Whitmore Street'thfi additions * comprise only one story. Both the public office strong-room have been doubled in size, whilst two capacious rooms for Registrar and Sheriff have been added.. The plans m connection with the work, -which is being by Mr Emeny, were-prepared at the Public Works Office./ ■ ■
