The annual joint exhibition of the Christchurch Pigeon and Canary and Cage Bird, Club opened at tho Alexandra Hall to-day/ The various exhibits are nicely staged, and a creditablo display is made in every class. Some of the, pigeons were' especially good, Mr. W. M'Kenzie's African owl being considered the very best ever shown here. Mr. F. Hickmott's chequered dragoon was also a fine specimen. The special prize-winner in fantails came from Invercargill,- while, sevoral entries were forwarded from Wellington. The' pets and miscellaneous cage birds were numerous and uniformly good, while the canaries Norwich section (of which A. Simpson's clear yellow medal and cup winner was the' best) was; perhaps/ the most noticeable' for quality.' '
