RIFLE SHOOTING.

MATCHES AT TRENTHAM. Probably the atrocious character of the wind yesterday sufficed to induce a number of the local riflemen to spend their holiday in pursuit of some other pleasure than their favourito week-end sport, for only about 40 odd marksmen visited Trentham range for 'a day's shooting. The wind at the range \aried from "deadm" to' ten degrees right, and Some times to 12 degrees left. Thero were no range -flags available, 1 and shooting was therefore very dif- • ficult. The results were as follow:— MIXED SWEEPSTAKE.
