ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DEATH UNDER CHLOROFORM. A HOSPITAL.PATIENT. An old man named James Henwood, a fellmonger, GO years of ago, residing at ketone, died at tho hospital at 9 o'clock yesterday morning whilst an anaesthetic was being administered preparatory to the performing of an operation. Deceased, who was a married man, ivas admitted to the hospital on Apnl 2 last. An inquest was hold at the hospital yesterday afternoon by Dr. A. M'Arthur, S.M., Coroner, a verdict of death from heart failuro being returned. A CONDUCTOR , !-) RECOVERY. Conductor Lover, who had his leg crushed between two trams in the Newtown carsheds on Novembor 23 last, is progressing favourably.. The amputation was buccessful, and Lever was able fco leave tho hospital yesterday after a remarkably quick recovery. FALL FROM A TRAMCAR. (BY TELEQBirn—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, January 18. A young man named Ivan Boylan, residing at Romucra, fell off a tramcar in Manukau Road this evening, and sustained eovcro ooliouaawn of the brala.
