TRAINING AT TRENTHAM.
It was an ideal morning for training operations at Trcntham yesterday, and a large number of the horses were given fast work. Ine trial gallop just inside the rails was open, tlie going being fair.- ■ Over ninety, horses worked during the morning. ... \ - ' _.The Cup candidates Bourrasquo (Scott) and Husbandman (Chapman) were companions in f i7 a ii a mil ? and Bourrasque held the lreadmill colt B af© throughout the journey, and finished several lengths to- the good. Chanteuse (Chapman) finished a dozen lengths in front of Adna over a mile and a quarter, which was traversed in 2min. 14 3-ssec. 'The best gallop of the morning over ten furlongs was that between Ikon (L. Wilson) and Muskerry (H. Price).. The latter made the pace warm over.the first six furlongs, but Ikon, who had the inside running, kept with the. Jones), rattled off four furlongs in. 51 2-ssec.. Goldbeater was, too good for Applegarth over the same distance, the watch recording 50sec. Advantage, alone, slightly bettered the latter performance. Tumut and Boutade wore associated over, half a mile, the former finishing m front in 50sec. y Bangipapa, , alone, took half''a-; second longer over the same journey. Armlet (M'Combe) comfortably beat Sweet Angelus over six furlongs run in lmin. 18sec. Kurawaka (Jenkins) was in front, of Tauira (Traill) at the.end of.seven ;furlongs run in lmin. 37sec. Consolation; and Aborbrothock were associated over six: furlongs, Flingot and Belle Amie over four .furlongs, Bridgo: and Bally.: Shannon over four furlongj, and Expansion, Amphiansor, and Raupare .were-companions over three furlongs, each lot finishing .in .the: order named.
