FIRE BRIGADE COMPETITIONS. c
-, The Hutt Fife Brigade held their competitions on the recreation 'ground on Saturday afternoon in the presence of a fair number of spectators. The brigade executive, under Mr. H; Baldwin, sectetafy, superintended arrangements. Messrs. W. Rator, H. RixTrott. and J. H. Carter were the judges;' Mr: Percy R: Purser the startor; and Messrs. J. G. Chapman arid F. Jcnriess timekeeperß. lhe , various events were promptly got off, the results being as follow: — ".-Championship event (Mr. H. Baldwin's cup); hose, hydrant, and Union, three irion.— Lower Hutt No. 1, 40 3-ssec., 1; Lower Hutt No. 2,45 3-ssec, 2. Five entrants. . Reel and disabled hose, five men.—Captain Sunn's team, 54 .l-ssec, and 3sec. penalty 1; Gear Company's team, Glscc, 2: Novel Race.—Fireman E. Strand, 1; Captain Slinn, 2; Fireman Shardlow, 3. ■ ■ : Reel and disabled hose (open to Lower Hutt. Brigade x only),, five men.—Fireman Stoup's team," 62 2-ssco., 1; Fireman Devereaux's team, 63 l-6sec, 2; Captain -Slinn's team, (34 l-ssec., 3. ' The Potone Citizens' Band gave a number of selections at Potone yesterday afternoon As cricket fixtures were postponed on Saturday, a friendly match between two teams from the Petono Club was played on tho' recreation ground. .
