Miss Floronce Goring,, and Mr. Vaughan Sandeman was best man. ( The bride wore-white Liberty satin, with a wreath'of orange blossoms and myrtle and- a diamond necklace, tno gift of her mother. The bridesmaids' dresses were of champagne-coloured cloth trimmed with gold embroidery and brow* mirroire velvet, and they wore . brown silk picture. hats, trimmed with ohrysanthemums.. After,tho reception, Mr. and Mrs. Bulloid left for the South of England. At Messrs,. Glendinning's Galleries, £50 was given a few. days ago-for a-.Victoria Cross awarded to Saninel Mitchell, 8.N., for great bravery in the New Zealand war. • the successful candidates awarded the M.R.O.S. diploma at the last meeting of the Royal College of Surgeons of England was Mr. Philip Seaton' Vickerman, M.8.,.Ch.8. (Edih.); of Auckland. Ainong the'successful candidates at the first professional examination in anatomy and physiology for tho diploma of F,R.C.S., held this month, was Mr. John Bruce Baird, 8.50., of Otago and Glasgow Universities.' On November 16, Mrs. Caroline Augusta Martin, widow, of the late Mr.- F. V. Martin, of Otago, died at. the advanced age of 88, at the residence of her brother. 26 Kensington Gate, London; and was buried at Brompton. Cemetery on Satujday, November, 21.
Mr. and Mrs. J..H. Wood, of Auckland, and their daughter aro on a visit to England, primarily on account of Mrs. Wood's health. They have spent most of their time in Cheshire and the northern counties. They will return to Nw Zealand via Gape Town and Australia, leaving Liverpool in February .next. . ■ . '■ ■ - ' . . ■.
