Baeyertz, the judge, 1 said' the "■■■ I event had' been a surpriso' to- him. .- It was : , I nothing like.as good in Dunedin, where they never had so good an entry (17) nor so gooJ singing. i The elocutionary contest; is taking place •this afternoon, the reading being Psalm 103 (18 entrants).
