It almost goes without saying that there were many such shots played last evening, and the result of some or the games —particularly thai between Prince and Roberts (both of the Newton n Club) —produced great excitement* The games last evening consisted of tho. play-off of tho tie between Hogben (Thorn-, 'don) 'and Brackenndge (Victoria) for the. iileadorship of section 4, the match botnoea Pritice- (winner' of section 3) and Roberta I (section "5), and that between Norwood (sv* I tion 2) and Bell (section 6).

Norwood, who had shown rattling good form in several of the tournament games, played 'disappointingly, and his drives were rather erratic. *The other gamo between the rival Newtowa skips resulted as follosvs — Sexton, A.
