"Gd.~ which, with £2822 lis. Bd. brought of £17,769 7s,'2d.' G per cent, on preference sharesabsorbed £3750, leaving £14,019 7s r available Jfor division. The directors recomniendod'a' dividend of G per cent, on .preference and'ordinary shares, and a bonus;of 2£ per .ceint. to shareholders on- purchases;- leaving a balance of £3915 2s. 3d. The Chairman stated that tlio directors had-'"written off about £4000 for extra lire loss beyond the amount recovered from insurances,companies, for rent and lixturing temporary premises after -the Cliristchurch fire, and...started the year with a clean sheet. He referred to the very satisfactory advance in the business in Dunodin and Wellington, and to the support given by shareholders- amOriends •in Cliristchurch.
