THE-HELLERS. : To-night the Hellors Company open their brief season at the Theatre Royal, in.a programme of . magic, mirth, mystery, and music. . A.contemporary says:—"Mr. Heller held his audience spellbound by his conjuring feats, which" for illusiveness and mysteriousness suggested the genius of that greatest of modern' thau'maturgists, Rpbort Houdon, whom, it will be remembered, was sent by the French Government to dazzle, frighten, and subjugate the pagan priests of Algeria, who had obtained a dangerous, ascendency over the benighted peoplo of that country by their witchcraft' and magic. The motto of the conjurer is. "the quickness of the hand deceives the eye," but this maxim is in truth a part of the'deception. Most of. the audience were possibly too untutored in tho art to enter into the-admirable dexterity displayed, upon which Mr. Heller is to be congratulated."
