ADMIRAL COUNT YAMAMOTO. (BJ TELIOEArH—ritKSS ASSOCIATION—corruiaKT.I (Rec. Ootober 30, 9.40 p.m.) Tokio, October 30. The deajih is announced of Admiral Count Yamamoto. •. ■ Admiral Baron Yamamoto, for his services in the Russo-Japanese .War, was created a' count, along with General!, Kuroki, Oku, and Nogi. Since-.then his most notable act was an important diplomatic mission last year to Europe, Britain, and the United States, in the course of which he received the British honour of G.C.Jl.G.,'and the French Grand, Cross of the legion of' Honour. During this trip, while at Berlin, he- placed a wreath on the grave of Count Walderseei who commanded the European forces'in'their expedition to Peking (along with tho Japanese) in 1900. He was received by King Edward, and also by President Roosevelt., At that time relations between ' the United States and Japan were strained. Subsequently it was officially announced at Washington that the interview ."confirms . . . the thoroughly good understanding between the two Governments and the fundamental friendliness between the two nations."
