SOUTHERN FOOTBALL CLUB. ' The Southern Football Club lield their a»> - nnal smoke concert in tlie Masonic Hall, Newtown,- last evening;. Mr. King occupied' ,the-. ohair. Tho following toasts, were hon'b'ured: "The! Wellington Rugby Union," proby:Mr. Fulford, and responded to by Mr. F. ■Mr. .Talbotj "Referees' Association," proposed ifoyj.Mr;.;Fulford, and responded to by Mr. F. Green; "Tho-Clue," proposed by Mr. Barber, and 'responded .to by Mr. J. Campbell; "Our Opponents," proposed by Mr. W. Norris, and responded to by Mr. J. Campbell; "Kindred Sports," proposed (by Mr. H. Blick, and responded to .by .Mr. T. Norris. The following contributed musical items:—Messrs. D. Fraser, W.'Norris,' F. Green, Watson,'.J". Innis. WELLINGTON-CLUB.. The -Wellington Football Association held their ( annual smoke concert at Mowson's last night. - Mr. Courtenay occupicd the chair. •The. following toasts were honoured:—"Wellington Football 1 Association," proposed by posed by Mr. H, G. Mayer, and responded to by Broadie;;, "1908 Season Cup Winners," proposed by Mr. Mayer, and responded to by tho tho captain Marist Bros. team. This was fol--lowed-t>y the-presentation-of cups and of a medal to tho Rovers Club, and responded in by the Captain ,of tho Rovers Cinb. Other toasts were: "New Zealand Football Association," proposed by M. H. Godber; "Referees' Association," proposed by Mr. H. Davenport, and responded, to by Mr. Waters; "Kindred Sports," proposed by Mr. T. Shields, and responded to by Mr. Izard. The following contributed' musical items:—Messrs. G. Warren, E.'Bust,. A. Brett, and Moran.
