AMBULANCE SATURDAY.
The fair sex-intend to lay Beige'to the city to-morrow even more actively than was 'the case on Ambulance Saturday -last year A council of war was held at the Town Hall last evening, when the attacking parties and points of attack were discussed. The cause at issue is such a worthy one, that the' besiegers deserve every success The trophies, in the snap© of the public s casb offerings/ will bo devoted for the most part direct to the St John Ambulance Association's fund for nurs' ing the sick poor of the city. It,has been arranged that three-quarters of the collection shall be handed to this fund, while in all probability the remaining fourth will be set aside for ambulance quarters for the general use of the' association and its nurses .Collectors will be posted at-all the most important points along the - thoroughfares, while the bowlers, cricketers, and rowing-men will not be overlooked. The young ladies are enthusiastic over .the event, and have come forward most willingly to help the good cause. A committee, under the direotion of Miss King, will provide refreshments for the workers throughout the day at the Town Hall where the headquarters are to bo.
