CRIPPLED N.Z. BOY NOW ACTIVE AND WELL.
SUFFERED FOR THREE YEARS, AND THOUGHT TO BE DYING. HIS BONES DECAYING THROUGH BAD BLOOD. ' BEST MEDICAL. TREATMENT FAILED TO CURE HIM. OWES HIS LIFE TO DR. WILLIAMS' PL\K PILLS. HIS MOTHER TESTIFIES TO the Permanency . of. his ,cure. When young Lepuard Wills, of Maugamaire, New Zealand, was cured some years ago by Dr. Williams' Pink Pills when''! he was thought to be dying, tho whole neighbourhood was interested m his case, and;tho question everyone asked was "Will he stay cured?" To-day his mother 'answers 'the question. There isn't a more robust boy of his age in New Zealand. The. boy had contracted a form of blood poisoning which attacked his bones. He was utterly unable to walk, and had to be wheeled about in a gocart. For two years he was a sufferer and had to be kept in bed, wrapped in wadding. Ho was a complete cripple. When the doo. tors failed to cure him his mother, Mrs. Minnie Wills, gavo him Dr. Williams' Pink Pills, and, to use her own words, '.'Leonard can run like a hare, and can swing an axe or crack a whip with any of his brothers. His ,cure is certainly a, miracle." 1 - His mother and'grandparents''niade '' the following declaration in regard to his health since lie'was cured:— V - ' : ; I, Minnie Wills, widow, Mangamaire, New Zealand, do solemnly and: sincerely declare that tho attached testimonial, 1 in reference to the .cure by Dr. ; Williams'. Pink 'Pills of my son, Leonard Lionel Wills, is true in every, particular. That my. said son is now quite well, and has since the date of his cure by Dr. Williams' Pink Pills, enjoyed excellent health and shown no sign of of his illness,' and T make tlifs solemn declaration conscientiously believing tho same to ba true, and by virtue of the provisions of au Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled "The.Justice of 'tlio Peace Act, 1882." : (Sgd) MINNIE WILLS. Declared at Mangamairo this eighth day of April one thousand nine hundred and eight, before me r \ . • ' , v.- ,-R. SMITH, J.P. Mrs. Wills made the: following statement at the time of the boy's cure:— "I thought Leonard was sickening for the measles," said Mrs. Wills. "We soon had to call in a-doctor, and in less than a week he was delirious. We then noticed the lad complained about , his shoulder being sors and painful. If we happened to take hold ol his- right arm ho would scream with pain. When his shoulder was examined we noticed that_ it was somewhat swollen and .inflamed looking, and very painful to touch. The doctor declared that the lad was suffering from Inflammation of the shoulder-blade. We were ordered to apply hot fomentations and hot poultices to bring it to a head. Tht doctor then lanced the lad under the armpit, and said that he had never seen such a discharge of pus. The wound, never properly healed. ' It formed into a gangrene ulcer, and kept up a continuous discharge. Other ulcers formed on the top part of the armpit'. Tho doctor then declared that the bone was diseased, and shortly afterwards piecef of bone as green ks grass began to work out of tho sores: Then a small pimple formed on the outside* of the ankle; this also broke out and formed into a running soro. The doctor' declared :he must go into the hospital arid have tho 'bones scraped, and that if lie didn't have this" done, the disease would work all through his system and ho would die. The boy became a complete cripple, and had to bo kept in bed .'wrapped in wadding, as he could not'bear clbthing'.of any sort near his skin. We had a'special/go-cart .'made for him, when lie was strong enough , to leave bed, as ho was utterly unable, to' walk, in fact lie was too weak to situp, arid we also had a special bed for. him; Leonard had suffered two years, when wo decided to'give Dr. Williams' Pink Pills a trial/,' We noticed in a few weeks after starting'taking Dr. Williams' Pink Pills that, his "appetite was improving, and we Wero. delighted to see him ■ growing stronger. The discharge from tne sores grew less every day,' and eventually healed right up. There is hardly any mark on his ankle, and with the exception of a few pits where the bone came away, his arm and shoulder are quite well. The doctor often .inquires how tho lad is. He can run ' like a-'.-hare, and swing an axe or crack a whip.with tiny of his brothers. His cure ia certainly a miracle. We thought that we would have lost him." 'Mangatainoka,, 7th April, 1908. • We, the undersigned, grandfather and grandmother of Leonard Lionel Wills, have had the above testimonial read to us relating to Leonard Lionel Wills' illness, and we hereby certify that the facts pre not exaggerated. The case .might easily have been more strongly worded. There is ,110 doubt in our minds'that'Dr. Williams' Pink Pilla cured Leonard Lionel Wi!'.. and he is now well and hearty arid quite as .trong as any other boy. (Sgd.) W. T. N. UPTON. JANE UPTON.
