Advice received by the local agents reports that the shortage of trucks at Lyttelton has further delayed the Canadian-New Zealand liner Indravelli, and that her departure for Wellington is now postponed till to-morrow.
THE ENNERDALE. , • Last night the Maoriland Company's steamer Ennerdale arrived from Southern ports. She leaves for Auckland direct to-day, and intending shippers are notified by advertisement' that cargo will be received up to noon. MORE OREGON PINE. Auckland exchanges report that the Canadian liner Den of Ruthven, which left Vancouver on Ootober 18 for Suva and Auckland and other Now Zealand ports, has on board 1,200,000 ft. of Oregon pine for discharge at Auckland. A further shipment of 1,500,000 ft. is reported to be on board the four-masted barquentine ICoko Head, which left Portland (Oregon) on September 27, for Auckland. PASSENGERS FROM ENGLAND. P THE AKAITUEA. » At 11.20 a.m. yesterday, the Union^Company's - steamer Arahura left Greymouth for Westport, » g'ld was to sail thence nt 8 p.m. for Nelson. - She is timed to leave Nelson at 11 a.m. today, and Pinton at 5.30 p.m. Accordingly, she should reach Wellington about half-past nine to-night. RAICAIA'S COASTAL MOVEMENTS. It is expected that the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Rakaia will sail finally from - Wellington for London on November 21, in time to connect with the London January wool sales. The vessel begins loading at Auckland on the Friday, and then she come to this port via Gisborne and Napier. . ATHENICS' MOVEMENTS. Advice received by the local agents of the Shaw-Savill liner Athenic, reports that the vessel is to leave Auckland to-day for Gisborne and Wellington. She is expected to arrive here on Friday or Saturday, and sails finally from Wellington for London via ports on November 5. PAPAROA'S TIME-TABLE. On completing discharge of the Wellington i portion of her cargo the New Zealand Shipping Company's liner l'aparoa leaves Wellington for 1 Lyttelton probably this afternoon. Thence she goes to Timaru to commence her Homeward 1 loading. More cargo will be taken in at the • Bluff, Lyttelton, Napier, and Wellington. This ■ is her final port, and she is timed to sail for London on November 19. NEW DREDGE FOR GREYMOUTH. Cabled advice received by the Greymouth ' Harbour Board reports that its new steam dredger Maw'hera left Renfrew last Friday. According to the "Grey Star," the dredge, which has been completed one month after contract time, the delay being chiefly due to strikes in tho shipbuilding trade, is expectcd 1 to take sixty days to como out. Ho route will be via the Mediterranean mid Red Seas, thence to Colombo, then to Albany, from which port she will probably come on to Greymouth direct, The dredge should, therefore, be here by Christmas, and will be ready to commence active dredging operations in the New Year. To-day tho Union Company's cargo steamer Pukaki leaves Greymouth for Wellington. It is reported that tho barque Rona' is to load hardwood at Port Esperence for Dunedin. Captain Renaut, who has been on holiday leave, rejoins the Takapuna at Wellington today, relieving Captain Crawford. On Monday night the Union Company's tur-ret-deck steamer. Ivoromiko left Wostport for Suva. To-day the steamer English Monarch is expected to complete discharge of tho Wellington portion of her oil cargo, and will sail for Lyttelton. It is ■ expected. that tho Union Company's steamer Kaituna, which has had a propellor fitted at Wellington, will get away for Westport to load coal for ,tho Admiralty at Melbourne. ' / It is reported that "Holmdale" has been suggested as the likely new name for the s.s. Torgauten. Accordingly she will be called after, Captain Holm, of the .Maoriland Steamship Company. Captain W. J. Newton has transferred from the Manuka to the Flora pro tem, his officers being: Messrs. A. Cant (chief), R. J. Keynes (second), and J; Armit (third). Tho barque Empreza, 236 tons, lias been chartered to take a general cargo to-Noumea, where she arrived on October 7, and proceeds thence to Surprise Island to load guano for a New Zealand port. "New iron" holds paint very b.idly, and the rusty plates of the Ngahere, which arrived direct from the building yards the other day (says the Lyttelton "Times") showed far mor'o than was desirable when her sides got dry. 1 This evening the F.H.S. liner Surrey, from Liverpool, via Auckland' and Napier, is expected to reach' Wellington. The two A. and Ai liners Clan Matlieson and Kazembe, from New York, which also come to .the New Zealand and African S.S. Company's agency, are expected to arrive from Auckland; late to-night or early on Friday. . | The Sydney "Commercial News" says that it is reported that the Union Company has arranged for tho steamer Taieri to load timber for Hobart.for New Zealand'ports. She will arrive at Ilobart from Adelaide, via Melbourne, this month. Iler ports of discharge will be Dunedin and Lyttelton. The Taieri was recently sold to the Maoriland Steamship Company of New Zealand.
