The annual meeting of the Fire Brigade was held on Monday night, Lieutenant T. t Sheen presiding. The election of officers re--1 suited: —Captain, H. Better; Lieutenant, T. Sheen; foreman, T. Tidswell; first branchman, A. Tait; second branchman, C. Skipage; first hydrantman, 0. Crawley; second hydrantman, H. Walker; secretary, C. Lust. Sir. W. Tucker, the retiring secretary, received a presentation from his fellow-mem-bers. _ ' In connection with the county elections,' Mr. A. M. Wilkinson'is announced as a candidate for the Greytown Riding, and Councillor John M'Leod has been asked to again stand for the Awatea Riding. '
