A meeting of the Society for the Protection of Wometi and Children was held yesterday afternoon in the society's rooms, Willis Street, Mrs. W. A. Evans presiding. Mrs. Fell, Mrs. Kirkcaldie,. and Miss Richmond were also present. 'It was reported that five fresh cases, had been dealt with since the previous meeting, that", several others were being attended to, and: that proceedings wore being taken in Court with regard to, another. Final arrangements were Inade for the annual meeting .to be held ;bn Tuesday ' next, when his Worship the Mayor is to preside.
