' The wooden ooastal steamer Kincumber, 137.t0ns gross, built in 1898, and owned by the Manning River Limestone and Steamship Company, was wrecked while crossing the Manning River bar. A heavy sea was running, and carried the Kincumber on to the end of the breakwater, where she -waS • badly damaged, and then drifted on to th 6 beacli; - • Captain Anderson and a seaman named Walm were washed overboard and were drowned. , The' remainder of the crew, and a passenger, reackcd shore safely in the ship's boat. »
