SWIMMING.
THE WELLINGTON CLUB. ' The fourteenth annual meeting of the Wellington Swimming Club was held in Godbe?!s Rooms last evening, Mr. G. S. Hill presiding. The adoption of the report and balancesheet (a precis of which has been published) was agreed to. Six now members were eleoted. Mr. A. A. Somerville was appointed to act as instructor in live-saving for the club. Officers for the ensuing season were elected as follows:—President, Dr. Chappie, M-P-; vice-presidents. Sir Robert Stout, K.C.M.G., Hon. J. Rigg, M.L.C., Messrs. J. G. W. Aitken, M.P., T. Ronayne, R/ O. Banner, J. P Maxwell, H. Birch, H. D. Bell, John Duthie, and A. H. Turnbull; captain, Mr. H. E. Anderson; vice-captain, Mr. Lanoe Bridgo; hon. auditor, Mr. Geo. Wilkes; hon. treasurer, Mr. R. Evensoncommittee, Messrs. N. Gandy, W. Morpeth' L. Fama, C. Ward, H. Ashford, B. O'Neill, and H. Bliok; starter, Mr. Geo. Sadd; timekeepers. Messrs. G. S. Hill and A. A. Somervillo; ohoolt starter, Mr. H. Banks; handicappors, Messrs. A. A. Somervillo and G. Sadd; delegates to Wellington Centre, Messrs. G. S. Hill and T. Shields ;• hon. secretary, Mr, H. A. Anderson. A suggestion was put forward that the Te Aro olubs should combine and' hold a carnival together, instead of each club holding a oamival separately; The matter was left in the hands of the committee. Mr. G. S. Hill urged that action should be taken in the direction of sugge'sting having baths orected at Newtown. No definite move was made in the direction indioated. Y.M.C.A. CLUB. The Y.M.C.A. Amateur Swimming Club is in a flourishing condition, according to the report submitted at the annual meeting last ovening. Twenty-live new members joined aftor the report was adopted. The following officers were elected:—Presidont, Mr. H. w! Koraloy; vice-presidents, Messrs. Donald Gillies, J. Duthie, C. H. Poole, M.P., G. Winder, H. Osborne, R. Johnson, J. Dl Smith, J. B. Finlay, C. Cathie, J. Hunter j and S. Robinson; secretary, Mr. S. L. Mark; treasurer,' Mr. W. Wilson; assistant secretary, Mr. R. Baker; captain, Mr, W. Charters; water-polo captain, Mr. w! Charters; baudicapper, Mr. A. A. Somerville; committee, Messrs. G. p! Hannah, R. Baker, W. Reid, and W. Graves; hon. auditor, Mr. C. D. Morpoth; delcgatoa to association, Messrs! S. L. Mark and G. P. Hannah. It was decided' fcp ooanmence the season on November 6 at 8.30 a.m.
