In House of Commons, Mr. Hudson Kearley, Parliamentary Secretary to tho Board of Trade, moved that it bo an instruction to tho committeo to insert in tho London Electricity Supply Bill a clause giving thfi London County Council ultimate power to purchase. A motion by Mr. Winston Churchill, Presi-' dent of tho Board of Trado, to closuro the debate was resisted by Radicals and, Labourites, but was carried by 153 to 144 amid crios of ■" Resign!" . Mr. Koarley's motion was then carried by 212 votes to 79.
